Fine Arts Camp

Fine Arts Camp at Barrhead Public Library
Our Art Camp started in 2010 as a one-week Art Camp for teens, and expanded to two week-long sessions for tweens and teens (11-15) in 2011. In both years, the camp was registered to our maximum capacity!

Our Art Camp is intended to introduce students to a variety of traditional and modern fine arts types (ie. painting, sketching, printing, sculpture, collage, graffiti), media (ie. acrylic, oils, charcoal, aerosols, wire) and techniques. We plan our fast-paced schedule of workshops to be approachable for beginners, but with the flexibilty to accomodate more experienced artists. Wherever possible, we bring art history and Canadian content into the mix as well. Our goal is to spark a passion for art, and to provide continued arts education and support for youth in our community through workshops during the year and connections to local arts groups.

We're still recovering from the excitement of last year, but we'll be posting the dates for next year's camp soon! To get your name on the Early Bird mailing list for 2012, please contact Meg at the Library (780) 674-8519 or email Summer1@barrheadpubliclibrary.ca
