About Library Memberships
Membership is open to all individuals residing in Barrhead Town and County. A membership is valid for one year from date of issue and may only be used by the person to which it is issued. Membership information for persons who reside outside our service area can be found here.
Getting a Membership
One piece of government-issued ID is required when processing a membership. A child must have the signature of a legal guardian to obtain a membership. All new library users must sign a Cardholder's Agreement.
Cost of Membership
Family Membership (a card used for more than one person) $20
Single (a card for one adult) $12
Junior (age 18 and under) $5
Seniors (age 65 and over) $5
Institution (ie. a day home) $50
Unfortunately, overdue items are subject to library fines. Fines for all items are $0.25 per day, per item. All outstanding fines must be paid before more items can be checked out on your account. Late fines can add up quickly! If you have overdue items, please return them as soon as possible, call the Library to have your items renewed, or renew them online anytime at www.tracpac.ab.ca.
Memberships and fines may be paid for by cash or cheque, as we are unable to accept debit or credit cards at this time,
